Reverse DNS

We offer automated rDNS management through the SolusVM control panel.

For IPv4 rDNS:

  1. Navigate to SolusVM and login if necessary.
  2. Click "Manage" next to the server you'd like to set rDNS for.
  3. Click the "Network" tab near the bottom of the page.
  4. Click the link under "Reverse DNS" to change the rDNS PTR record for a specific IP address.

For IPv6 rDNS:

  1. Navigate to SolusVM and login if necessary.
  2. Click "Manage" next to the server you'd like to set rDNS for.
  3. Click the "Network" tab near the bottom of the page.
  4. Click "Manage" next to the IPv6 subnet you'd like to set rDNS for.
  5. If the IPv6 address you'd like to manage isn't already displayed, use the "Add IP" feature to add it.
  6. Click the link under "Reverse DNS" to change the rDNS PTR record for a specific IPv6 address.

Please note: You must have a valid A or AAAA record before SolusVM will allow you to set the rDNS for a specific IP/IPv6 address.
